NEWS or not so news
It may sound a little ambitious to call this page "news" when our Instagram/Facebook pages have much more and much faster content to offer. But it doesn't always have to be fast, and a new album will still be interesting tomorrow. With that in mind, don't take the word "news" too literally. Stay tuned.
JACOB BRODOVSKY
We are delighted to welcome Canadian songwriter Jacob Brodovsky as a new member of MMD.
The list of friends featured on the first Single: Julie Penner (Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think!, among others), Jason Tait – (The Weakerthans), Dominique Adams (Boy Golden), Charlotte Cornfield, John Baron (William Prince), Keiran Placatka (William Prince) and MOONRIIVR is at least as impressive as the single “Past Mistakes” itself, and the very appealing and lovingly produced video rounds the whole thing off perfectly.
His sound is a perfect blend of the bands mentioned above: indie-rocky and mischievous like The Weakerthans, atmospheric like Broken Social Scene and evocative like William Prince. You can sense from the single and the album that the musicians worked collaboratively on the album.
The album TELL THE KIDS WE TRIED is planned for July 10th, CD, Digital, colored Vinyl

SLOW LEAVES
It is a great pleasure for us to announce the new album THE RUINS OF THINGS UNFINISHED by Canadian songwriter SLOW LEAVES aka Grant Davidson for 01.05. Today the first single DON’T FRET is released
“Davidson combines the melting of the late Roy Orbison with the harmonies of the Beach Boys and the restrained understatement of the Slackers of the Nineties. In a better world, that would make him famous right away.” Rolling Stone Germany
Throughout the album, Slow Leaves explores how family dynamics and intergenerational trauma quietly shape who we become, how patterns are invisibly passed down, and how confronting discomfort can itself be an act of care. The album's title comes from Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa: "I am made up of the ruins of unfinished things."

NORTHCOTE
On June 12, Canadian songwriter NORTHCOTE, whom some may already know from his tours with Gaslight Anthem, Frank Turner, and Hot Water Music, will release his new album TO CHERISH.
With the first single, ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, he now gives us a first taste and shows why he has accompanied these bands. An anthemic, rousing song, superbly staged by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, Dave Hause, White Lung).

PETER KARP
Peter Karp * New single "House Full Of Love" * New album "Jersey Town" out 17 April CD/Vinyl
"Guys like Peter Karp, James Taylor and Bob Dylan embody Americana Blues, and us English guys are inspired by it." MICK TAYLOR, THE ROLLING STONES
Let's start with that to make it clear that PETER KARP is something of a living legend. His music, which is a cross-section of blues, folk, Americana and rock 'n' roll elements, with an emphasis on blues, is like a journey through American music history. His life has been similarly turbulent, taking him from collaborative albums with MICK TAYLOR to tours with Keb' Mo', Steve Miller and John Mayall and various US Billboard chart entries.
JERSEY TOWN is a powerful milestone on this journey, classic, at times retrospective and yet as contemporary as blues can be.
